About Us
Our Founder
The Haudenshield Funeral Homes were established in 1919 by it’s founder, Sydney Haudenshield, Sr., who in time operated nine funeral homes in the Tri-State area. Through the years he sold some of his funeral homes to area funeral directors and are still operated as funeral homes to this day.
Our funeral home was the forerunner of many innovations in the early years, such as the first to introduce the motorized hearse to the Tri-State area and the originators of the white funeral flags placed on cars in the funeral procession to insure their safety along the route traveled.
Our Family
In the early 1920’s, our funeral home offered an ambulance service to the area communities until the early 1970’s when Federal Regulation forced some privately owned ambulance services out. Syd, Sr. died in 1968, his son Syd, Jr. continued the family business as he did working with his father.
Syd, Jr. operated the funeral homes with the same caring, dignified – thoughtful and personalized services. With the passing of Syd, Jr. in 1991, a third generation emerged. Richard D. Krueger, a licensed funeral director and embalmer, operates the business affairs of the family’s funeral home in Cuba City, WI.

Our Future
The Haudenshield Funeral Home & Crematory now has a fourth generation, Jillian L. Krueger, a licensed funeral director, embalmer and certified crematory operator to carry on with the same traditions we started over 107 years ago, by giving the Tri-State area a caring, dignified, and compassionate service to loved ones who have left us, and by caring for those still here helping them gain closure. She is also a licensed cosmetologist in the State of Wisconsin.
