William "Bill" M. Welch, 72, of Hazel Green, WI passed away on Tuesday, September 17, 2013 at his home. A memorial service will be held at 11am on Saturday, September 21st at St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church, in Hazel Green, WI with Father Ken Frisch officiating. Burial with military honors will be at the St. Rose Cemetery in Cuba City, WI. Friends may call on Saturday, Sept 21st from 9:30am until the time of service at the church.The Haudenshield Funeral Home & Cremation Services in Cuba City, WI is serving the family. Bill was born on Oct. 8, 1940 to Michael & Ella (Bollig) Welch in Bandcroft, IA. He married Judy Ann Baxter-Bowden on April 13, 1973 at St. Rose Catholic Church in Cuba City, WI. He was a US Army Veteran. Bill worked as a truck driver for Klauer Manufacturing and was employed by Swiss Colony. He enjoyed fishing, tinkering around, trips to Mystique Casino, country/western music and watching western movies. He was fondly known for always having a story to tell and his sense of humor; he will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved him. Bill is survived by his wife, Judy; a son, Victor (Laurie) Bowden of Dubuque, IA; a daughter, Tammy (Scott Sabers) Sutter of East Dubuque, IL; 6 grandchildren: Amanda(Ben)Stuhler, Ashley, Amy, Alicia Bowden, Kelly & Missy Sutter; a brother, Pat (Lois) Welch; a sister, Mary Kay Burtis; a father-in-law, Austin Baxter; 6 sister-in-laws: Joan Rooney, Jean (Pat) Malone, Janet (Arnie) Roper, Joyce (Dennis) McPhail, Julie (Bill) Snyder and Mary Baxter. He was preceded in death by his parents, 2 brother-in-laws, Bob Burtis& John Baxter; a mother-in-law, Margaret Baxter and a niece Cecilia. In lieu of flowers a William "Bill' M. Welch Memorial Fund has been established.
