William "Bill" J. Shepherd, 68, of Benton, WI passed away on Thursday, December 14, 2017. Services will be held at 11:30 a.m. on Thursday, December 21st at the Faith Lutheran Church in Cuba City, WI with Pastor Jasmine Tesdahl officiating; military honors will be accorded following services at the Faith Lutheran Church in Cuba City, WI. A private family burial will be held at a later date. Friends may call on Thursday, December 21st from 9:00 a.m. until time of service at the Faith Lutheran Church in Cuba City, WI. The

Bill was born on January 26, 1949 to John & Carshona (Monk) Shepherd in Shullsburg, WI. He graduated from Benton High School; served in the US Army and drove trucks for the Army while he was stationed in Korea from 1971-1972. He worked at Wal-Mart in Platteville, WI and retired from Walnut Hollow in Dodgeville, WI. He married Phoebe C. Casey on June 22, 1996 at the Faith Lutheran Church in Cuba City, WI. He enjoyed jigsaw puzzles, wartime movies, going on road trips, his 2 beloved cats, Yukon & Daisy, but most of all time spent with his family and friends. He will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved him.
Bill is survived by his wife, Phoebe; his mother Carshona of Benton, WI; 2 brothers: David (Brenda) Shepherd and Doug (Donna) Shepherd; 2 sisters: Ruth (Terry Nagel) Schmidt and Betty (Charlie) Weber; 5 step-children; numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren; along with nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father, John, a sister, Nancy and a brother-in-law, Jack Schmidt.
In lieu of plants & flowers a William "Bill" J. Shepherd Memorial Fund has been established.
