Obituary

William "Bill" E. Honshel, 87, of Cuba City, WI passed away on Saturday, October 17, 2015 at his home. Services with military honors accorded will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, October 24th at the Haudenshield Funeral Home & Cremation Services in Cuba City, WI with Pastor Dan Verdegan officiating. A private family burial will be held at a later date. Friends may call on Saturday, October 24th from 10:00 a.m. until time of service at the Haudenshield Funeral Home & Cremation Services in Cuba City, WI. Bill was born on December 31, 1927 to Harry & Nellie (Marshall) Honshel in Dubuque, IA. He was a graduate of Cuba City High School and Coyme Electrical School in Chicago, IL. Bill married Donna Gaber on July 30, 1949 in Galena, IL. He worked for over 28 years as an electrician at John Deere Dubuque Works in Dubuque, IA. He was a WWII Army veteran and a member of the Cuba City Fire Department & Cuba City Rescue Squad. Bill enjoyed fishing and was also an avid Green Bay Packers & Wisconsin Badgers fan. He will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved him. Bill is survived by his children: Steve (Valerie) Honshel of Platteville, WI, Kevin Honshel of Benton, WI and Tammy Honshel of Cuba City, WI; 6 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Donna, (Oct. 14, 2013), a son Timothy and a sister. In lieu of flowers a William "Bill" E. Honshel Memorial Fund has been established.
