Wesley "Wes" J. Richardson, 89, of Galena, IL passed away on Tuesday, December 31, 2013 at Galena Stauss Senior Center, Galena, IL. A private family service will be held at 11am on Saturday, Jan. 4th at the Haudenshield Funeral Home & Cremation Services in Cuba City, WI with Pastor Calvin Hughes officiating. Burial will be at the Hazel Green Cemetery, Hazel Green, WI. Friends may call on Saturday, Jan 4th from 10am until time of service at the funeral home. Wes was born on December 16, 1924, in New Diggings, son of Mark and Luella (Fields) Richardson. He married Helen Soat on September 30, 1950, in Benton, WI; she preceded him in death on Dec. 31, 2009. Wesley and Helen farmed most of their lives in the New Diggings and Benton area until retirement, and they moved to Council Hill in Galena. Wesley enjoyed farming, playing cards and visiting with family and friends. Wes is survived by his nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Mark Richardson; two sisters, Edith March and Florence (Wendell) Temperly; and a sister-in-law, Ruth Richardson. In lieu of flowers a Wesley J. Richardson Memorial Fund has been established.
