Obituary

Vivian Odessa (Lee) Rowin, 80, of Albany, WI, formerly of Cuba City, WI, passed away peacefully at home with her daughter by her side on Thursday, March 30, 2017. Services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, April 8th  at the Jenkynsville Historic Primitive Methodist Church, Jenkynsville, WI  with  Rev. Bill Vasey officiating. Burial will be in the Carr Cemetery in Jenkynsville, WI. Friends may call from 4:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. on Friday, April 7th  at Haudenshield Funeral Home & Cremation Service s in Cuba City, WI and on Saturday, April 8th from 12:00 p.m./noon until the time of service at the Jenkynsville Historic Primitive Methodist Church in Jenkynsville, WI.

Vivian was born on September 17, 1936 at Madison General Hospital, Madison WI.  She was the youngest of eight children born to Chester and Odessa (McNett) Lee. She attended a one room school house (Carr) in her younger years and graduated from Cuba City High School in 1954.  She married LaDue "Dewey" Rowin on October 31, 1958 at the Primitive Methodist Church in Benton, WI.  While living in Beloit, WI, she was a stay at home mom, and active with her daughter in Brownies and Girls Scouts and enjoyed playing cards and bowling.  Then she moved to Verona, WI in 1971, then to Albany, WI in 1976, where she opened a business in her home called the "Golden Aire" a home for the elderly for 35 years, retiring in February of 2011. Her favorite past times was spending time with her family and going to the casino with her daughter. She will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved her.

Vivian is survived by her daughter, Karen (Don) Zantow of Verona, WI; 3 grandchildren: Odessa (Uno) McKibben of Albany, WI, Don Jr. (Christina) Zantow of Edgerton, WI and Shawnna (Mitch) Webber of Randolph, WI and the light of her life, her 4 great grandchildren with one on the way: Dawson Zantow, Paityn Webber, Vivian McKibbin and Stella Zantow; 2 sisters-in-law; Joan (Frank)Lee of Cuba City, WI and Joan (Sam) Lee of Belmont, WI, along with several nieces, nephews, great-nieces & great-nephews.


She was preceded in death by her parents, Chester and Odessa (McNett) Lee; her husband, LaDue "Dewey"; 4 brothers: Chester "Butch" Lee, Clarence "Sam" Lee, Paul "Jake"Lee and Frank Lee;  3 sisters: Thelma Riley, Faye Krause and Rose Henthorn; 2 sisters-in-law; Loise (Jake) Lee, Orpha (Butch) Lee; 3 brothers-in-law; Clem Riley, Floyd Krause and Ed Henthorn.

"Ma: Shut off the lights, all eight of us are home with you and Dad."


A special thank you to Dr. John Finell and Dr. Alexis Eastman for Mom's care.  Also to Four Winds Manor in Verona for the love and care that was given to her, especially from Gwen, Sara, Steve and Anita.
