Family & friends may call from 3:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. on Friday, May 23rd at the Haudenshield Funeral Home & Crematory in Cuba City, WI; also on Saturday, from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service at the funeral home. The Haudenshield Funeral Home & Crematory in Cuba City, WI is serving the family.

Cookie was born on July 29, 1952 to John "Jack" & Lillian (Benn) Rapp in Dubuque, IA. She was a graduate from Dubuque Senior High School. After high school, she attended Area 1 Vocational-Technical School (later known as NICC). She then worked as a secretary for Project Concern in Dubuque, IA.

Her weekends were spent enjoying time with family and friends camping at Jellystone campground in Bagley, WI. There she met the love of her life, "her Russell Berry", Russell "Rusty" J. Wiederholt. They were married on October 3, 1981 at St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church in Hazel Green, WI. Her greatest wish was granted on November 5, 1983, when she became a mother to a baby girl named, Anna "Belle".

Cookie was a devoted mother, volunteering her time as a classroom aide or field trip chaperone at Southwestern Schools. She loved volunteering her time to the community, whether it was teaching religion classes or working the variety booth for many fall festivals. She was also a member of the CCW and the Hazel Green Fire Auxiliary.

Some of her fondest memories were family fishing trips to Danbury, WI; finding all the best booths at the Warrens Cranberry Festival, going on shopping adventures with her best friend, Sonya Junk, babysitting her nieces and nephews, and spending time in her kitchen baking cookies and banana bread or whipping up a batch of her famous chili.

Cookie loved road trip adventures with "her girls", Anna & Jessica, especially the time they went to the Herrschner Factory Craft Outlet Store in Stevens Point, WI and Anna managed to slip in a detour  to Leinenkugel's Leinie Lodge, then rounded off the day with supper at The Big Orange Moose. A close second, was the time "the girls" planned a Girls Trip to see Cookie's favorite Broadway production, "Wicked".

Cookie loved her faithful service dog, Black Jack. Who was completely devoted to taking great care of her, helping her with anything she needed, from bringing her a ringing phone to being her eyes to ensure a safe walking path. Whether it was a good day or a bad day, Cookie always knew she could count on Black Jack to be a special part of her Care Team, "Team Cookie". Cookie will be sadly missed and fondly remembered by all who knew and loved her.

Cookie is survived by her husband, Rusty; a daughter, Anna (Jessica Pickel) Wiederholt of Hazel Green, WI; a sister, Debbie (Lynn) Siegert of Asbury, IA; a brother, Charlie (Teri) Rapp of Maquoketa, IA; 2 brothers-in-law: Owen (Joan) Wiederholt of Hazel Green, WI & Tim (Teresa) Wiederholt of Cuba City, WI; 3 sisters-in-law: Billee Jo Rapp, Susan (Gene) Wollin of Marshall, WI & Dawn Wiederholt of Cuba City, WI; along with many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, John "Jack" & Lillian, in-laws, Charlie & Mary Wiederholt and a brother, John Thomas "Tommy" Rapp, special extended family members, Bill & Judy Kaiser; and her beloved service dog, Black Jack.

In lieu of plants & flowers, a Viola "Cookie" M. Wiederholt Memorial Fund has been established.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to Hospice of Dubuque (East Side Team), Southwest Health Care Center, especially Dr. White & staff, Hazel Green Rescue Squad and Hazel Green Police Department for their care & compassion given to Cookie and her family.
