Susan was born on August 28, 1957 to Robert & Jean (James) Strong in Oklahoma City, OK. She was a graduate from Platteville High School and MATC with a nursing degree. She worked at Dubuque Internal Medicine and later at the VA Hospital as a nurse for many years. After that she worked at Lactalis and retired in February 2023.
Sue had a deep love for life's simple joys. She found happiness in the pages of a good library book, the beauty of her garden, the thrill of gymnastics, the sun on a lake day, and the warmth of her kitchen, where she baked TiramiSue-Williams and scotcharoos with love. A true animal lover, Sue's compassion extended to all creatures- her grandpets especially. She cheered passionately for the Wisconsin Badgers, and she rarely missed a football or volleyball game. But, above all, her greatest joy came from the moments she spent with her family and friends. Her kindness, warmth, and unwavering love will be deeply missed by everyone who had the privilege to know her. Susan is survived by 3 daughters: Tia (Ross) Bodenheimer of Wausau, WI, Morgan (Ted Bailey) Crawford of Madison, WI and Devon (Joey) Glocke of Seattle, WA; 3 granddaughters: Lillian, Claire & Grace Bodenheimer; a brother, Steve Strong of Clearwater, FL; a sister, Sherrill Buehler of Madison, WI; along with many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, a brother, Scott Strong and a sister-in-law, Jean Strong.
In lieu of plants and flowers, a Susan K. Williams Memorial Fund has been established.
