Obituary

Sara Ann (Willey, Brewer) Speth, 77, formerly of Cuba City, WI, passed into eternal glory on Friday, June 5, 2026, in Venice, FL. A life well lived will be honored with a memorial service held on Saturday, July 11th at 2:00 p.m. at the Haudenshield Funeral Home & Crematory in Cuba City, WI, with Pastor Charlotte Eversoll officiating. Burial will follow at Mount Pleasant Cemetery in Cuba City, WI. Family and friends may call on Saturday, July 11, from 1:00 p.m. until the time of service at the funeral home. The Haudenshield Funeral Home & Crematory in Cuba City, WI is serving the family.

Sara was born March 9, 1949, to Byron H. & Rita S. Willey. She was later adopted by Paul Brewer after Byron's untimely passing in 1950. Paul and Rita raised Sara in Cuba City, where she enjoyed the warmth, stability, and joy of a close-knit family and a happy childhood.

A natural caregiver, Sara will always be remembered as a nurse, but it was her sharp business acumen that allowed her healing spirit to reach far beyond any hospital. After graduating from the Finley Hospital School of Nursing in 1970, she earned both her Bachelor of Science in Nursing and her Bachelor of Business Administration from Alverno College in Milwaukee. Her career spanned the emergency room to the executive office, and she brought compassion, competence, and leadership to every role she held.

Sara found joy in serving others, giving her time and talents wherever she could — but nowhere more than at home. She married William Speth in 1970, and together they welcomed three children: Ann Marie, Paul William, and Jane Alice. Their home was a place of open doors, open arms, and the kind of loving chaos that made everyone feel like family.

Left to treasure her memory are her son, Paul Speth (Amy); daughter, Jane Fried; adopted sons, Byron and Mark; six grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, William Raymond (August 28, 2024); and her daughter, Ann Marie Sambles (June 27, 2011).

In lieu of plants & flowers, a Sara Ann (Willey, Brewer) Speth Memorial Fund has been established.
