Rose M. Burkholder, 80, of Platteville, WI passed away on Monday, January 1, 2024. A private family service has been held and a private family burial at a later date. The Haudenshield Funeral Home & Cremation Services in Cuba City, WI is serving the family.

Rose was born on April 28, 1943 to Thomas & Rosella (Alt) Farrey in Cuba City, WI. She attended Benton High School. She married Richard "Dick" Burkholder on October 17, 1959 in Benton, WI. She worked as a produce manger at Dick's Supermarket for over 26 years, retiring in 1998. She was a member of the VFW Women's Auxiliary in Platteville, WI. Rose enjoyed tending to her gardens and many flower beds and was always up for a fun & competitive game of dice or cards. She was a superb home chef and cooked many delicious meals, canned a variety of fruits and vegetables, baked mouthwatering desserts and every year baked a feast of Christmas candies for her family. She also enjoyed going to garage sales looking for treasures with her sister, Luanne brought her much fun and laughter throughout the years. But most of all, she enjoyed time spent with her family, grandchildren, pets and friends. She will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved her.

Rose is survived by her husband of 64 years, Dick; 3 sons: Terry (Ellen) Burkholder and Dave (Sonia) Burkholder both of Hazel Green, WI and Jeff (friend, Chuck) Burkholder of Dubuque, IA; 5 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; 2 sisters: Luanne (Kenny) Stodden of Neillsville, WI and Karen Ray of Jamul, CA; a sister-in-law, Alice Farrey of Janesville, WI; her beloved pets; along with many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents and 2 brothers: Tom Farrey and Denny Farrey, a brother-in-law, Robert Burkholder and a sister-in-law, Bette Jo Farrey.

In lieu of plants & flowers, a Rose M. Burkholder Memorial Fund has been established.
