Ronald L. Lightcap, 72, of Hazel Green, WI passed away on Sunday, January 21, 2024 at Edenbrook Nursing Home in Platteville, WI. A graveside memorial service with military honors accorded will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, May 23rd at St. Francis de Sales Church Cemetery in Hazel Green, WI.  The Haudenshield Funeral Home & Cremation Services in Cuba City, WI is serving the family.

Ron was born on November 28, 1951 to Raymond "Sam" & Eloise (Byrne) Lightcap in Hazel Green, WI. He was a graduate from Hazel Green High School. He married Dana Rowe on February 14, 1999 in Hazel Green, WI. He worked for many years at Southwestern Schools as a custodian. He was a US Navy veteran and a member of the Temperly-Duncan American Legion Post 526 in Hazel Green, WI. Ron enjoyed fishing, gardening, but most of all, he enjoyed time spent with his family and friends. He will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved him.

Ron is survived by his wife, Dana Lightcap of Platteville, WI; a daughter, Megan Aurit of Platteville, WI; a son, Kevin Holtz of Madison, WI; 3 grandchildren; 1 great-grandchild; 4 siblings: Roger Lightcap, Pam (Don) Stark, Ray (Cheryl) Lightcap and Mark Lightcap; along with many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents.
