Obituary

Richard "Red" M. Walton, 83, of Cuba City, WI passed away on Thursday, May 13, 2010 at the Southwest Health Center Nursing Home in Cuba City, WI. Services will be on Monday May 17, 2010 at 7pm at the Haudenshield Funeral Home & Cremation Services in Cuba City, WI, with Pastor Denise Anderson officiating. Friends may call from 3pm-7pm at the funeral home on Monday. Burial will be at a later date.

Red was born on October 26, 1926 in Highland, WI to Frank and Leora (Sparling) Walton. He was a United States ARMY Veteran and served during WWII. He married Genevieve Averkamp on August 21, 1951. He worked for 30 years at the Dubuque Packing Co. and retired in 1979. Red enjoyed traveling, dancing, reading and fishing. He will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved him.

Surviving Red is a daughter, Sandy Hocker of Cuba City, WI; a son, Doug Walton of South Hampton, PA; a step-son, Larry Hentrich of Galena, IL; an honorary daughter, Teri Eudaley of Peosta, IA; a sister, Dorothy King of Dodgeville, WI; two brothers: Russell and Bernard Walton; 17 grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his wife Genevieve (January 3, 1996).

In lieu of flowers a Richard "Red" M. Walton Memorial Fund has been established.
