Richard "Dick" D. Belken, 81, of Cuba City, passed away on Sunday, February 4, 2024 at UW-Madison Hospital in Madison, WI. A memorial service will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, May 4th at the Haudenshield Funeral Home & Crematory in Cuba City, WI, with Fr. David Flanagan officiating. Burial with military honors accorded will be held at the St. Rose of Lima Cemetery in Cuba City, WI. Family & friends may call on Saturday, May 4th from 9:00 a.m. until the time of service at the funeral home. The Haudenshield Funeral Home & Crematory in Cuba City, WI is serving the family.
Dick was born on August 2, 1942 to Delphinus & Cecilia Leone (Thomas) Belken in Cuba City, WI. He was a graduate from Cuba City High School and enlisted into the US Army in 1964 and was stationed in Vietnam until he was honorably discharged in 1966. He worked for many years as a meat cutter for Weber's Meats in Cuba City, WI. He married Bonnie Becker and had 2 children, Richard & Carrie. Dick was a member of the St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church, Cuba City VFW Post #8318, Cuba City Lions Club and Cole Acres Country Club. He enjoyed playing scratch off lottery tickets, playing a good game of cards with his buddies, golfing, watching local high school sports, an avid Chicago Cubs, Green Bay Packers & Wisconsin Badgers fan, but most of all, he enjoyed time spent with his family and friends. He will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved him.
Dick is survived by 2 children: Richard (Roger Maas) Belken of Mesa, AZ and Carrie Belken of Platteville, WI; 5 siblings: Jeanette (Norm) Weber, Darlene (Bob) Rielly, Ronald (Mary) Belken, Dwayne (Joan) Belken and Mike Belken; a brother-in-law, John Banfield; along with many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; an infant brother, Thomas; a sister, Leanne Banfield; a brother, Robert Belken; a sister-in-law, Pat Belken and a nephew, Craig Weber.
In lieu of plants & flowers, a Richard "Dick" D. Belken Memorial Fund has been established.
