Phyllis M. Genthe, 88, of Cuba City, WI passed away peacefully with her family by her side on Friday, January 17, 2025. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:30 a.m. on Wednesday, January 22nd at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church in Cuba City, WI, with Fr. David Flanagan officiating. Burial will follow in the St. Rose Church Cemetery, in Cuba City, WI. Family & friends may call on Wednesday, January 22nd from 9:30 a.m.-11:15 a.m. at the church. The Haudenshield Funeral Home & Crematory in Cuba City, WI is serving the family.
Phyllis was born on December 6, 1936 to Bernard & Anita (McReynolds) Udelhofen in Platteville, WI. She was a graduate from Platteville High School. She married Harold L. Genthe on February 11, 1958 at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Platteville, WI. She was a member of St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church. Phyllis enjoyed crocheting, flowers, working in her yard, puzzles, crosswords, avid Elvis fan, but most of all, she enjoyed time spent with her grandchildren, great-grandchildren, family & friends. She will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved her.
Phyllis is survived by 4 children: Tim (Mary Jo ) Genthe of Cuba City, WI, Tammy (Jerry) Kaiser of Benton, WI, Terri (Sean) Latham of Howards Grove, WI & Tina Wildes of Viroqua, WI; 7 grandchildren: Chad (fiancée, Marissa) Genthe, Nichole (Matt) Troestler, Beth Kaiser, Eric (Emily) Kaiser, Travis (very special friend, Hannah) Kaiser, Samantha (Kyle) Witak & Kasey (Eric) Dickmyer; 14 great-grandchildren: Ava, Addison, Lilly, Miles, Olivia, Evelyn, Emma, Cooper, Nolan, Davis, Carson, Liam, Autumn & Piper; 3 sisters-in-law: JoAnn Udelhofen, Doris Udelhofen & Helen Udelhofen; along with many nieces and nephews.
She will be greeted in heaven by her parents, her husband, Harold (August 14, 1988), a sister, Kay (Ray) Herbsleb, 5 brothers: Bob (Florence) Udelhofen, Jerry (Mary Lou) Udelhofen, Jake Udelhofen, Donnie Udelhofen & Ronnie Udelhofen. She was the last of her generation of the Genthe Family.
In lieu of plants & flowers, a Phyllis M. Genthe Memorial Fund has been established.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to St. Croix Hospice, their staff, especially nurse Teri, for the kindness and compassion shown to Phyllis and her family.
