Phyllis M. Dixon, 98, of Cuba City, WI passed away on Sunday, July 14, 2024 at Oak Park Place in Dubuque, IA. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, July 18th at St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Benton, WI with Fr. David Flanagan officiating. Burial will follow in the St. Patrick's Cemetery in Benton, WI. Family & friends may call on Thursday, July 18th from 9:00 a.m. until the time of service at the church. The Haudenshield Funeral Home & Crematory in Cuba City, WI is serving the family.

Phyllis was born on August 20, 1925 at home in Cuba City, WI, daughter of John & Gertrude (Banfield) Welsh. She went to Benton High School and after high school, she worked for a year in the Rockford, IL at an ammunition plant to support the WWII effort, with her good friend, Phyllis (Cottingham) Kiley, while her husband to be, Dean Dixon was serving aboard the USS Louisville in the South Pacific. Phyllis then, along with her friend, Phyllis (Cottingham) Kiley moved to Madison, WI and worked at Rayovac Batteries where they met Tooty Schepp, who became a lifelong friend. She married Dean Dixon on June 1st, 1946 at Holy Redeemer Catholic Church in Madison, WI and moved to Hazel Green, WI and worked as a CNA in the Hazel Green Hospital. She was a member of St. Rose & St. Patrick's Catholic Church, St. Patrick's Altar Society and the Benton Fortnightly Club. Phyllis enjoyed reading, going on family vacations, and later traveling with Dean & close friends, but most of all, she enjoyed time spent with her family and friends. She will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved her.

Phyllis is survived a daughter, Tricia (Marv) Puls of Cuba City, WI; 4 sons: Dennis (Mary Beth) Dixon of Ingleside, IL, Michael Dixon of Benton, WI, Robert (Bridgette) Dixon of Benton, WI and Richard (Karen) Dixon of McFarland, WI; 12 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; a brother, Ed (Mariann) Welsh; 2 sisters: Pat Hamm & Elaine (Larry) Walsh; along with many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Dean, 2 brothers: Bob Welsh & Jack (Gretchen) Welsh, a sister, Wanda (Cliff) Kirk, and a brother-in-law, Harold Hamm.

In lieu of plants & flowers a Phyllis M. Dixon Memorial Fund has been established.
