Mildred J. Coates, 88, of Cuba City, WI, formerly of Galena, IL passed away on Friday April 16, 2010 at the Southwest Nursing Home in Cuba City, WI. Services will be 11am on Tuesday April 20, 2010 at the Haudenshield Funeral Home & Cremation Services in Cuba City, WI. Burial will be at Carr Cemetery in Benton, WI. Friends may call on Tuesday from 9:30am till time of service at the funeral home.

Mildred was born on June 19, 1921 to Noah and Iva (Frey) Sweitzer in Lanark, IL. She was united in marriage to Thomas L. Coates on October 16, 1954 in Galena, IL. Thomas passed away February 21, 1976. Mildred worked at the Savanna Army Depot for 13 years. She will be missed by all who knew and loved her.

Mildred is survived by a niece, Anita (Richard) Little of Sterling, IL; a nephew, Maurice (Sandra) Sweitzer of Sterling, IL.

She was preceded in death by a her parents, husband Thomas, two brothers: Edwin Sweitzer and Russell Sweitzer, and a nephew Rodney Sweitzer.

In lieu of flowers a Mildred J. Coates Memorial Fund has been established.
