Mary Lou Scadden, 88, of Cuba City, WI, passed away peacefully on Monday, August 19, 2024 at MercyOne Hospital in Dubuque, IA. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, August 24th, at the United Methodist Church in Cuba City, WI; with Pastor Dan Verdegan officiating. Burial will follow in the Mount Pleasant Cemetery in Cuba City, WI. Family and friends may call on Saturday, August 24th from 9:00 a.m. until the time of service at the church. The Haudenshield Funeral Home & Crematory in Cuba City, WI is serving the family.

Mary Lou was born on January 24, 1936 to William Henry & Ellen Louisa (Pitt) Weaver in Blanchardville, WI. She graduated from Blanchardville High School in 1954 and married Edward R. Scadden on June 27, 1954 in Blanchardville, WI. Together they raised 3 children, Charles, Linda & James. Mary Lou had a passion for music. She began taking piano lessons at the age of 6 and by age 16, she was giving lessons to others. She gave piano and organ lessons to hundreds of students, until she retired in 2020. She also played at countless weddings and funerals. She was a member of the United Methodist Church, serving as the organist for over 40 years. She was also a member of the United Methodist Women and the Dorcas Circle.  Mary Lou enjoyed making the holidays special for her family and enjoyed playing Christmas songs on the piano surrounded by her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She will be sadly missed and fondly remembered by all who knew and loved her.

Mary Lou is survived by 3 children: Charles "Chuck" (Joy) Scadden of Sun Prairie, WI, Linda (Donald) Pearce of Hazel Green, WI and James "Jim" (Michelle) Scadden of East Troy, WI; 8 grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren; along with many cherished friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Edward (March 24, 1993).

In lieu of plants and flowers, a Mary Lou Scadden Memorial Fund has been established.
