Mary Kay Lawrence, 84, of Benton, WI passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her family on Thursday, January 11, 2024. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, January 19th at St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Benton, WI, with Father David Flanagan officiating. Burial will follow in the St. Patrick's Church Cemetery in Benton, WI. Family & friends may call on Thursday, January 18th from 3:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. at Haudenshield Funeral Home & Cremation Services in Cuba City, WI; also on Friday, January 19th from 9:00 a.m. until the time of service at the church. The Haudenshield Funeral Home & Cremation Services in Cuba City, WI is serving the family.
Mary Kay was born on January 11, 1940 to John & Lillian (Chase) Timmerman in Dickeyville, WI. She attended the Immaculate Conception Academy in Dubuque, IA. On September 12, 1959, she married the love of her life, Harry B. Lawrence at Holy Ghost Catholic Church in Dickeyville, WI. Mary Kay retired in 2005, after 29 years at the Benton School District. She was a member of the Benton Fire Auxiliary and St. Patrick's Catholic Church. Mary Kay enjoyed front-porch sitting, splitting beers, traveling, playing cards, canning goods, baking & cooking, her never-ending love for Elvis, but most of all, she enjoyed time spent with her family, grandchildren and friends. She will be sadly missed and fondly remembered by all who knew and loved her.
Mary Kay is survived by 6 children: Dana Lawrence of Benton, WI, Steve Lawrence of Vernon, WI, Todd Lawrence of Middleton, WI, Mike Lawrence of Madison, WI, Susan (Rich) Faust of Mukwonago, WI and Rick (Lisa) Lawrence of Benton, WI; 12 grandchildren; 3 great-grandchildren; 4 siblings: Shirley Runde of Cuba City, WI, Joan Timmerman of Anaheim, CA, Janet Cottrell of Champlin, MN and Jack (Anna) Timmerman of Hudson, WI; a sister-in-law, Mary Timmerman of Dickeyville, WI; along with many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Harry (August 10, 2015), a brother, Dave Timmerman and a daughter-in-law, Lynn Lawrence.
In lieu of plants & flowers, a Mary Kay Lawrence Memorial Fund has been established.
The Lawrence Family would like to extend a special thank you to Hospice of Dubuque, for their compassionate care & kindness shown to Mary Kay & her family.
