Marlene D. Schuster, 86, of Kieler, WI passed away on Wednesday, September 20, 2023. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, September 25th at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Kieler, WI; with Fr. Bernard Rott officiating. Burial will follow in the Immaculate Conception Church Cemetery in Kieler, WI. Family & friends may call from 2:00 p.m. – 5:00 p.m. on Sunday, September 24th at the Immaculate Conception Parish Center in Kieler, WI; also on Monday, September 25th from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service at the parish center. The Haudenshield Funeral Home & Cremation Services in Cuba City, WI is serving the family.
Marlene was born on May 28, 1937 to Martin & Mildred (Lenstra) Kunkel in Kieler, WI. She married George Schuster on July 15, 1978 in Platteville, WI. Marlene enjoyed camping in Bagley at Jay's Landing, vacationing in Danbury, WI, she enjoyed chasing the greyhounds, spending time with the local Red Hat ladies, schooling her grandkids in a game of euchre, spending time with her family and her puppies. She will be sadly missed and fondly remembered by all who knew and loved her.
Marlene is survived by her husband, George; 8 children: Debbie Brant of Cuba City, WI, Mike (Karen) Kane of Hazel Green, WI, Martina Mergen of Platteville, WI, Mary (Rich) Hingtgen of Kieler, WI, Todd (Jayne) Kane of Stoughton, WI, Lisa (Ed) Ibarra of Platteville, WI, Sandy (Ron) Sampson of Cuba City, WI and Terry (Rhonda) Schuster of Monroe, WI; 17 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; 4 siblings: Patsy (Bob) Tigges, Judy (Don) Takes, Randy (Kim) Kunkel & Eddie Kunkel; a brother-in-law, Harry Kruser, 2 sisters-in-law: Jean Kunkel & Ila Schuster; along with many nieces & nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, a son, John Kane, a grandson, Ben Brant, a son-in-law, Joe Brant, 2 brothers: Martin "Buster" Kunkel & Earl Kunkel, 2 sisters: Jolene "Cookie" (Bill) Busch & JoAnne Kruser, a brother-in-law, Harold Schuster and a grandson-in-law, Eric Petersen-Brant.
In lieu of plants & flowers, a Marlene D. Schuster Memorial Fund has been established.
