Marjorie Vivian Wharton, 91, formerly of Hazel Green, WI passed away peacefully on Friday, November 16, 2018 at Milestone Assisted Living Memory Care in Stoughton, WI. A memorial service will be held at 11:30 a.m. on Wednesday, November 21 ^st at the United Methodist Church in Hazel Green, WI with Pastor Roy Lewis officiating. A private family burial will be held at a later date. Friends may call from 9:30 a.m. until time of service on Wednesday, November 21 ^st at the United Methodist Church in Hazel Green, WI. The Haudenshield Funeral Home & Cremation Services in Cuba City, WI is serving the family.

Marjorie was born on March 8th, 1927 in Benton, WI, the daughter of Marjorie Adell (Dixon) & George M. Stephenson. She attended Hazel Green Wisconsin schools and was a proud graduate of Hazel Green High School in 1945. On June 12th 1947, Marjorie was united in marriage to Foster (Joe) B. Wharton. Together they became lifelong residents of Hazel Green, raised two sons, Chuck and Bob and enjoyed 48 years of marriage. Marjorie was employed at the Hazel Green Hospital for 20 years, initially as a nurse's aide and then later worked in the surgical department as a surgical technician. She was a devoted member of the Hazel Green Methodist Church and the Women's Legion Auxiliary. Marjorie (and Joe's) happy feet graced the dance floors of many area supper clubs and dance venues. She enjoyed big band era music, dancing, playing bridge, traveling/camping, baking and occasional visits to the Dubuque casino. A wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister and friend, Marjorie was a real sweetheart with a real sweet tooth. She loved chocolate chip cookies and her home baked cherry pies, pasty and saffron buns were family favorites. Those who knew Marjorie will remember her kind, thoughtful and generous spirit.

Marjorie is survived by a son, Robert (Pattie Sartori-Wharton) of Stoughton, WI; a sister, Barbara Jones, Slidell, LA; 7 grandchildren & 8 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, her son, Charles and his wife (Rita Francis Wharton), her four brothers: Don (Bud), George, Jim, Dale (Jack) and one great grandchild, Jacob.

In lieu of plants & flowers, the family requests donations may be made in Marjorie's name to Alzheimer's Association of Wisconsin or Agrace Hospice Care.
