Marilyn J. Humphrey, 91, of Shullsburg, WI passed away on Friday, February 2, 2024 at Edenbrook Nursing Home in Platteville, WI. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, February 10th at the Haudenshield Funeral Home & Cremation Services in Cuba City, WI, with Pastor Gus Barnes officiating. Burial will follow in the Evergreen Cemetery in Shullsburg, WI. Family & friends may call on Saturday, February 10th from 9:00 a.m. until the time of service at the funeral home. The Haudenshield Funeral Home & Cremation Services in Cuba City, WI is serving the family.
Marilyn was born on September 3, 1932 to Melvin Orthel & Adeline Ellen (Bills) Redfearn in New Diggings, WI. She attended Leadmine School and graduated from Benton High School. She married Francis M. Humphrey on September 25, 1950 in Platteville, WI. Marilyn enjoyed cooking, baking, reading, puzzles, computer games, Mahjong, Game Point play, gambling, watching Days of Our Lives episodes, collecting stationery & pens, knitting, listening to music, writing in her diary and she loved plants & flowers, but most of all, she enjoyed time spent with her family, grandchildren & friends. She will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved her.
Marilyn is survived by 8 children: Francis "Butch" (Kay) Humphrey of Magnolia, TX, Judy (Harry) Gurno of Briggs, TX, Sandra (Ingemar) Lamberg of White Oak Springs, WI, Jerry (Mary) Humphrey of Monticello, WI, Shelly (Rob Reynolds) Humphrey of Fennimore, WI, Dave (Tammy) Humphrey of Shullsburg, WI, Curt Humphrey of Calamine, WI, Sheri (Dennis) Farrey of Belmont, WI; 15 grandchildren; many great-grandchildren; a brother, Dennis Redfearn of Leadmine, WI; along with many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, a son, Donald Humphrey, a brother, Richard "Dick" Redfearn, a sister, Carol Edwards and former husband, Francis (2018).
In lieu of plants & flowers, a Marilyn J. Humphrey Memorial Fund has been established.
