Margaretta R. Kieler, 83, of Kieler, WI passed away on Tuesday March 30, 2010 at Mercy Medical Center in Dubuque, IA. Friends may call on Monday April 5th from 3-8pm at the Immaculate Conception Parish Center in Kieler, WI and 9:15am until Mass which will be at 10:30 am on Tuesday April 6, 2010 at the Immaculate Conception Parish in Kieler, WI. The Haudenshield Funeral Home & Cremation Services in Kieler, WI is serving the family.
Margaretta was born on January 16, 1927 in Tennyson, WI to Phillip and Elizabeth (Holzer) Muller. She married Francis Kieler on November 29, 1944 at the Holy Ghost Catholic Church in Dickeyville, WI. Margaretta and Francis farmed for a number of years until her husband started Kieler Feed & Seed in Kieler, WI. She belonged to the Council of Catholic Women and Southwest Wisconsin CEW. She sang in the choir for many years at Immaculate Conception Church in Kieler, WI.
Surviving Margaretta is her husband Francis Kieler; three daughters: Janet (Leo) Friederick of Cassville, WI, Joan (Gary) Studier of Rockford, IL, Bonnie (Pete) Maring of Kieler, WI; two sons: Gary (Peggy) Kieler and Frank Kieler both of Cuba City, WI; 12 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren; one brother Clifford (Marie) Muller of Lancaster, WI; seven sisters: Edna Gillen of Dickeyville, WI, Marcella (Martin) Kieler, Marion Welter, Viola Richard, Betty Jansen all of Kieler, WI, Isabel (Robert) Dare, Patty (Joe) Kaster both of Janesville, WI and a sister-in-law Claudia Muller of Kieler, WI.
She was preceded in death by her parents Phillip and Elizabeth, three sisters, Freda Pluemer, May Kay Muller and Bernetta Hinderman, a brother Irvin; four brother-in-laws: Floyd Gillen, Philbert Pluemer, Robert Richard and Jerry Jansen, and granddaughter, Sarah Friederick.
In lieu of flowers a Margaretta R. Kieler Memorial Fund has been established.
The family extends sincere appreciation to the staff at Mercy Medical Center.
