Lanny L. Pickel, 65, of Cuba City, WI passed away on Wednesday, June 3, 2015 at Epione Pavilion Nursing Home in Cuba City, WI. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 am on Thursday, June 11th at the Faith Lutheran Church in Cuba City, WI, with Pastor Mike Short officiating. Burial will be in the Mt. Pleasant Cemetery, Cuba City, WI. Friends may call from 9:00 am until time of service on Thursday, June 11th at the Faith Lutheran Church in Cuba City, WI. The Haudenshield Funeral Home & Cremation Services in Cuba City, WI is serving the family. Lanny was born on June 22, 1949 to William & Lena (Russell) Pickel. He was a lifelong farming resident of the Paris Township, WI. He was a graduate from Cuba City High School. He was a member of the Faith Lutheran Church in Cuba City, WI. Lanny enjoyed fishing, hunting, morel & ginseng hunting, planting flowers, a Wisconsin Badger's and Milwaukee Brewer's fan, an avid card player, and family gatherings. Lanny is survived by two aunts: Adeline L. Brunton of Platteville, WI and Wilma H. Russell of Potosi, WI, along with cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother, August Pickel; two sisters: Rosemary & Bernadine Pickel and a cousin Johnny Pickel. In lieu of flowers a Lanny L. Pickel Memorial Fund has been established.
