L. Wayne Bennett, 86, of Cuba City, WI passed away on Wednesday, February 25, 2015 at Manor Care in Platteville, WI. Services with military honors will be held at 11:30am on Monday, March 2nd at the Haudenshield Funeral Home & Cremation Services in Cuba City, WI with Rev. Bob Bennett officiating. A private family burial will be held at a later date at Leadmine Cemetery, Leadmine, WI. Friends may call on Monday, March 2nd from 9:30am until time of services at the Haudenshield Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Cuba City, WI. Wayne was born on April 19, 1928 to James & Ellie (Lutes) Bennett in Belmont/Kendall Township, WI. He was a US Army Korean War Veteran. He married Eleanor March on March 23, 1956 at the Primitive Methodist Church in New Diggings, WI. Wayne enjoyed reading, Oliver & John Deere tractors, TV westerns, word puzzles, country western music, traveling and most of all, time spent with his family and friends. He will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved him. Wayne is survived by his wife, Eleanor; 4 children: Jerry (Jackie) Bennett of Cuba City, WI, Joyce (Randy) Christen of San Antonio, TX, Donald Bennett of Stoughton, WI and Dean Bennett of Beaver Dam, WI; 9 grandchildren, 1 great grandchild. He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother, Clarence Bennett, an infant sister, Helen Joyce, a grandson Shea Christen and a brother-in-law, Nathan Garwell. In lieu of flowers a L. Wayne Bennett Memorial Fund has been established.
