Kenneth W. Creswick, 89, of Chandler, AZ, formerly of Cuba City, WI, passed away on May 16, 2013, in Chandler, AZ. A memorial service will be held at 11am on Saturday, June 29th at the Haudenshield Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Cuba City, WI, with Rev. Calvin Hughes officiating. Burial will be in the Mount Pleasant Cemetery, Cuba City, WI. Friends may call on Saturday, June 29th from 9am until time of service at the funeral home. Ken was born September 14, 1923 in Dubuque, IA to Sidney and Bertha (Witchall) Creswick. He graduated from Dubuque Senior High School in 1941 and then attended the University of Dubuque. Ken enlisted in the Marine Corps in 1942, during which he spent a year at Notre Dame for officer training before going on active duty as a Second Lieutenant in the South Pacific and China until his discharge in 1946. He received his Bachelors Degree from University of Dubuque in 1947 and married Priscilla Eustice in June of 1947. He worked at the Eustice Lumber Company until 1956, at which time he joined the newly opened Cuba City Medical Center as an Assistant Administrator and shortly became the Administrator of the hospital and clinic. He served in that capacity until 1981 when he became President of the newly formed merger of the Cuba City and Platteville hospitals and the two nursing centers. Ken's achievements include working with rural hospitals in southwest Wisconsin to form the Rural Wisconsin Hospital Cooperative and the HMO of Wisconsin. In 1979, Ken was rewarded by the Wisconsin Hospital Association as Outstanding Hospital Administrator of the Year. Ken served in several capacities on the Wisconsin State Hospital Association Board. Ken was also active in his community and church. He was a charter member of the Cuba City Area Rescue Squad as an EMT. Ken retired from Southwest Hospital in 1989 but continued to serve on the Board of Directors until 1998. In 2000 Ken lost his wife of 52 years, Priscilla. Ken was later united in marriage to Gayle Lagman. He then moved to Chandler, AZ, where he resided until his death. Surviving are two of his daughters: Julie Olson (Doug Coons) of Wisconsin Rapids, Holly Bodenstedt (Steve) of Yankton, SD, and son-in-law Charles Gehrman of Tigerton, WI., 5 grandchildren, Erik (Andrea) and Chad (Megan) Olson, Max and Jake Gehrman, and Lindsay Bodenstedt, and 3 great-grandchildren. Ken is also survived by his sister Betsy Shifflet of Dubuque, Iowa and five nephews. Ken is also survived by six stepchildren: Steve (Kelly), Matt (Pinky), Mike (Ann), Bruce (Liz), Andrew, and Kim and their children and grandchildren. Ken was preceded in death by his parents, a brother Robert, his first wife Priscilla, his daughter Wendy, and son-in-law Gary. Ken was a thoughtful and kind man with a good sense of humor, and will be greatly missed by many. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Cuba City Area Rescue Squad, Cuba City, WI.
