Joyce E. Slater, 84, of Cuba City, WI passed away on Saturday, June 21, 2025 at MercyOne Hospital in Dubuque, IA. A memorial service will be held at 11:30 a.m. on Wednesday, June 25th at the Haudenshield Funeral Home & Crematory in Cuba City, WI, with Pastor Carter Jorgensen officiating. A private family burial will be at a later date. Family & friends may call on Wednesday, June 25th from 9:30 a.m. until the time of service at the funeral home. The Haudenshield Funeral Home & Crematory in Cuba City, WI is serving the family.

Joyce was born on May 6, 1941 to Delmar & Grace (Hatfield) Symons in Benton, WI. She married Daniel Slater on December 12, 1959 at St. Luke's Methodist Church in Dubuque, IA. She worked as a clerk for K-Mart for a number of years and later at retired after 12 years from Walmart.

Joyce enjoyed jigsaw puzzles, reading, her passion was baking & cooking, the Minion movies, 50's-60's music, especially Cher, traveling with Dan and her kids, but most of all, she enjoyed time spent with her family and friends. She will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved her.

Joyce is survived by her husband of 65 years, Danny; a son Robert Slater of Cuba City, WI; 2 daughters: Sandy Slater & JoAnn Slater, both of Dubuque, IA; 3 grandchildren: Travis, Zachary & Grace; 2 brothers: Bill Symons & Steve Symons; a sister, Barbara Jensen; along with many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Larry.

In lieu of plants & flowers, a Joyce E. Slater Memorial Fund has been established.
