Obituary

Joseph "Joe" H. Teasdale, 76, of Shullsburg, WI passed away on Tuesday, July 7, 2026. A graveside service with American Legion military honors will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, August 22, 2026, at the Evergreen Cemetery, Shullsburg, WI. A Celebration of Life and luncheon will follow at the American Legion Hall, HWY 11, Shullsburg, WI. The Haudenshield Funeral Home & Crematory in Cuba City, WI is assisting the family.

Joe was born on August 12, 1949, in Shullsburg to Orville and Alma (Sedgwick) Teasdale. He attended White Thorne School and graduated from Shullsburg High School.

Joe proudly served 20 years in the United States Air Force as a military communication's technical specialist. His military career allowed him to travel extensively throughout the world, including assignments in the Philippines, Thailand, Japan, Korea, and Hawaii. Following his retirement from the Air Force, he worked as a Department of Defense contractor with Raytheon.

An avid photographer, Joe enjoyed capturing the people and places he encountered throughout his travels. He also cherished his time as a gold prospector in California and Alaska, adventures he remembered fondly.

Joe enjoyed attending auctions and sales of any kind, gardening, farming, and spending time outdoors. He was devoted to his beloved cats—Baby, Blackie, and Snowball. Above all, he treasured the time he shared with family and friends. He will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by all who knew him.

Joe is survived by his sisters, Margaret Zalaznik of Benton, WI; Anna Geissbuhler of Darlington, WI; and Mary (Mike) Shaffer of Tyler, TX. He is also survived by a special niece, Jayne Temperly, whose care and devotion provided comfort throughout his final days; along with many nieces, nephews, and dear friends, including: Ron Woodworth, Richard March, Kathy Waul, and Glen Temperly.

He was preceded in death by his parents and an infant brother, John James Teasdale.

The family extends its heartfelt gratitude to the caregivers at St. Croix Hospice and Lafayette Manor for their compassionate care and support.

In lieu of plants & flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Shullsburg Angels, supporting the Shullsburg American Legion, VFW and The SAL.
