Joseph "Joe"
M. Davey
Feb 12, 1961 — Jan 11, 2025
Platteville
Joseph "Joe" Michael Davey, 63, passed peacefully on January 11th, 2025 at Meriter Hospital in Madison after battling lung complications due to Covid/Pneumonia for almost 2 months. Per Joe's wishes, he will be cremated, and no service will be held. The Haudenshield Funeral Home & Crematory in Cuba City, WI is serving the family.
Joe was born on February 12th, 1961 in Dodgeville to Florence and Amos Davey, where he then raised havoc for many years.
For anyone who knew Joe, he was a man of very few words but always one to speak his mind and stand up for those he loved. Joe loved to spend time outside with his grandchildren and sing Johnny Cash songs to them. Joe roofed for many years and spent many hours in his garage working on vehicles and building various things. In his younger years Joe loved to have a good time, go fishing, and watch football and NASCAR.
He is survived by his wife of 40 years, Lori Davey; his daughter, Cheyenne Davey and his son-in-law, John Jackson; his grandson, Uriya Jackson and granddaughter, Reviya Jackson, who loved their Papa very much; his granddaughters, Linzie Steers and Lillie Davey; his sister, Deb (Davey) Custer; his daughter-in-law, Shannon Davey; his close friend, Benji Beckett; and many other beloved family members.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Florence and Amos Davey; his son James "Jimi" Davey, who Joe has greatly missed since his passing; and many close friends.
"There's no way around grief and loss: you can dodge all you want, but sooner or later you
just have to go into it, through it, and, hopefully, come out the other side. The world you
find there will never be the same as the world you left." - Johnny Cash
