Joseph M. Loeffelholz, 89, of Cuba City, WI, formerly of Hazel Green and Potosi, WI passed away on Thursday October 28, 2010 at the Southwest Health Center Nursing Home in Cuba City, WI. Services will be 11am on Monday November 1, 2010 at St. Francis de Sale Catholic Church in Hazel Green, WI with Father Cy Weisensel officiating. Burial will be in St. Thomas Cemetery in Potosi, WI. Friends may call on Sunday October 31, 2010 from 4-8pm at the Haudenshield Funeral Home & Cremation Services in Cuba City, WI and on Monday from 10am till time of service at the church. Joe was born on March 26, 1921 to John M. and Margarita (Speaker) Loeffelholz in Dickeyville, WI. He married Bertha Miesen on June 25, 1940 in Cuba City, WI. Earlier in his life Joe hauled milk for Tennyson Cheese Factory. He worked at Dubuque Packing Company for many years and retired when it closed. While working there he also did roofing, painting and fencing. After retiring from Dubuque Pack he worked for Tri-State Auto Auction, and ran his small farmett near Hazel Green. He and Bertha enjoyed dancing, dining out and time spent with their pet dogs. Joe is survived by three sons: Donald (Linda) Loeffelholz, Richard Loeffelholz, and Dale Loeffelholz, all of Hazel Green,WI; 8 grandchildren: John Loeffelholz, Jim Loeffelholz, Louie Loeffelholz, Todd Loeffelholz, Christine Helmer, Tonya Schuld, Jeremy Loeffelholz and Danny Loeffelholz; and 10 great-grandchildren; brother-in-law Harry Miesen and sister-in-law Loretta Miesen. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife Bertha, a son Joseph, a daughter Patricia, brother Jack Loeffelholz, two sister-in-laws Margaret Loeffelholz and Irene Digmann, two brother-in-laws Emil Miesen and Ray Digmann. In lieu of flowers a Joesph M. Loeffelholz Memorial Fund has been established. The family would like to thank the employees of Southwest Nursing Home.
