Obituary

Jolene Marie Ferris was born on January 21, 1958 in Lancaster, WI to Dean and Charlotte (Strien) Ferris. She married Daniel C. Kaiser on November 7, 1992 at the Congregational Church in Lancaster, WI. Jolene through her younger years had a love for music and was very talented both vocally and instrumentally. She was involved in Song Spinners, chorus, girls glee club, state solo and ensemble, band, pep club and 4-H. She was active in volleyball, track, student council, AFS Club and forensics. She participated in the American Youth & Concert and performed at Carnegie Hall and throughout Europe. Throughout college, she became active in Madrigal singing, theater, swing choir and was also captain of the pom-pom squad at UW-Platteville. She was honored as Miss Dairy Queen and runner-up to Miss Grant County. She graduated with a B.A. in music and went on to nursing school at NICC at Peosta, IA to become a R.N. She has been active in various nursing activities throughout her life.

For the past 2 years, Jolene has owned her own business as a medical case manager working as a R.N. Jolene has enjoyed organic farming with her husband Dan and her daughters Danielle and Devon. Jolene enjoyed attending the girls' various sporting events throughout the year. She was their biggest fan. Together they enjoyed canning, baking, gardening and raising their livestock together. Jolene looked forward to the fall harvesting and loved to plan holiday and birthday celebrations for all family members. She enjoyed singing and playing piano with her girls. She was dedicated to her family as well as her church, community, nieces, nephews and friends. She volunteered for many organizations.

Jolene passed away unexpectedly on Sunday March 7, 2010 at her home surrounded by her family.

Surviving Jolene is her loving husband of 17 years Daniel Kaiser, daughters Danielle and Devon at home, a stepson, Shane (Megan) Kaiser and one grandson of Phoenix, AZ; 2 sisters, Cindy (Ron) Brandt of Lancaster, WI and Pamela (Duane) Bark or Durant, IA; one brother, Steve Ferris of Phoenix, AZ, along with many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her father Dean Ferris, both her mother and father-in-law Geneva and Elmer Kaiser.

In lieu of flowers, a scholarship fund for Danielle and Devon has been set up and donations can be made through the Jolene Kaiser Memorial Fund.
