John D. Eckel passed in peace on November 28, 2024 at the age of 83. A memorial service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, December 3rd at the Haudenshield Funeral Home & Crematory in Cuba City, WI, with Fr. Bernard Rott officiating. A private family burial will be held at a later date. Family & friends may call on Tuesday, December 3rd from 9:00 a.m. until the time of service at the funeral home. The Haudenshield Funeral Home & Crematory in Cuba City, WI is serving the family.

John was born June 10, 1941 to Francis and Rosemary Eckel. He married Ann (Collier) on September 2, 1961. He enjoyed 42 years of employment as an engineer at AY McDonald.

He is survived by his wife, Ann; sons, Bret of Platteville, WI, Kal (Tammy) of Fort Worth, TX, & Jim (Brenda) of McFarland, WI; and his grandchildren, Matthew (Sally) of Albuquerque, NM & Emma (Mathew) of Rossville, IN.

The family would like to thank the nursing staff at Stonehill Memory Care Unit and hospice personnel for their kindness, loving care and friendship provided to John and the family.

In lieu of plants & flowers, memorials may be sent to the family where they will be given in support of the Stonehill Nursing Scholarship Fund.
