The daughter of Joe & Isabel (Pearce) Teasdale. Joanne was born in Belmont, WI on May 9, 1930 joining older brother Robert; around her 5th birthday they moved to Hazel Green, WI; to the farm that was homesteaded by her great-great grandfather's family. Much later, this farm was bought by Russ and Joanne.
She had a typical childhood until 1941 when the war changed everyone's life. She enjoyed being outside working with nature. At 14 years old, Joanne got her driver's license and with help of her parents started Teasdale Dairy. Joanne and her cousin Donna were the staff & sometimes her mom also helped out. Their clients were 1 gas station, 2 grocery stores & 1 restaurant. Saturday was billing & collection for the Teasdale Dairy; they ran the dairy until 1947 when Joanne was a senior in high school at which time they sold the business to George Egan. By this time, she is dating the love of her life, Russell. Sports were the main activities in high school. After high school, Joanne attended Baylis Business College in Dubuque, IA for bookkeeping. After graduation, she got a job in Cuba City, WI at Farmer's Oil Company/Dellabella Motors.
On August 18, 1950, Joanne and Russ got married. In 1952, they purchased Farmer's Oil Company, which they ran until 1982. Together, they raised 4 children: Tim (Jane) in 1953, Linda in1954, Terry (Barb) in 1960 and Leanne (Gary) in 1964, we raised our family and many enjoyable years. In 1985, Russ was diagnosed with cancer and our world was turned upside down. He passed away in December 1986. Joanne started a new chapter in her life working in Galena, IL. This helped fill the void created by his death. She worked 15 more years and retired to enjoy life with her friends and family.
Joanne is survived by 4 children: Tim (Jane), Linda, Terry (Barb) and Leanne (Gary); 1 brother; 9 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren.
