Jerry P. Hesseling, 56, of Kieler, WI passed away on Sunday, April 24, 2011 at his home surrounded by his family. Services will be at 10:30am on Thursday April 28 at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Kieler, WI, with Father Bernie Rott officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Friends may call from 2-8pm on Wednesday, April 27 at the Immaculate Conception Parish Center and on Thursday from 9:30am until time of service at the parish center. A prayer service will be held at 1:45pm on Wednesday at the parish center. The Haudenshield Funeral Home & Cremation Services in Kieler, WI is serving the family. Jerry was born on January 4, 1955 to Leonard & Colleen (Linden) Hesseling in Dubuque, IA. He attended Holy Ghost Grade School, Cuba City High School and Southwest Vocational School in Fennimore, WI. He married Rita Dalsing on June 3, 1978 at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Kieler, WI. He worked both as a flight nurse for Air Evac Lifeteam and as a registered nurse in the Finley Hospital Emergency Room. Jerry was a member of the Immaculate Conception Parish in Kieler, WI, Jamestown EMS & Fire Department and Dickeyville Rescue Squad. He was proud of being an EMS/Nursing educator, playing bass guitar for various local bands, latest being 'Key of G' and time spent with his granddaughters, family and friends. He will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved him. Jerry is survived by his wife, Rita of Kieler, WI; 2 sons: Cory (Sarah) Hesseling & their children Hailey and Madison of Watertown, WI and Tyler (Kelly) Hesseling of Mt. Horeb, WI; his mother, Colleen (step-father Gilbert) Kunkel of Dickeyville, WI; 2 brothers: Joe (Wanda Rolfing) Hesseling of Capitan, NM and Kevin (Michelle) Kunkel of Pecatonica, IL. He was preceded in death by his father, Leonard, his grandparents, father-in-law, Linus Dalsing and a niece Kailee Kunkel. In lieu of flowers a Jerry P. Hesseling Memorial Fund has been established.
