Janet L. Spillane, 72, of Galena, IL passed away on Saturday, December 14, 2024 at MercyOne Medical Center in Dubuque, IA. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, December 21st at the Haudenshield Funeral Home & Crematory in Cuba City, WI, with Fr. Peter Auer officiating. A private family burial will be held at a later date. Family & friends may call on Saturday, December 21st from 9:00 a.m.  until the time of service at the funeral home. The Haudenshield Funeral Home & Crematory in Cuba City, WI is serving the family.

Janet was born on January 19, 1952 to Adolph "Al" & Zita (Vance) Hanson in Dubuque, IA. She married Barry Spillane on June 24, 2006. She worked as a secretary for Weber Concrete for many years. Janet enjoyed cooking, baking, hunting, crime tv shows and news radio, but most of all, she enjoyed time spent with her family & friends. She will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved her.

Janet is survived by 4 children: Scott (Tara Edmonds) Clancy of Hazel Green, WI, Sarah Cassens of Wesley Chapel, FL, Michele (Adam Smith) Olson & Becky (Mitch) Fecht, both of Hazel Green, WI; 8 grandchildren: Shane, Dakota, Lexi, Ashlynn, Tiffany, Derek, Peyton & Hannah; 4 great-grandchildren: Braxton, Sloan, Greyson & Zane, with one more on the way in January; 3 siblings: Verona (Terry) Freiburger, Paul (Judy) Hanson, Wayne (Ann) Hanson; 5 sisters-in-law: Berna Hanson, Diane (Ed) Holland, Rosemary Crawford, Jean Maxwell & Leyvi Smith; along with many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Barry (January 17, 2024), a brother, Dave Hanson, 4 brothers-in-law: Ron (Rose), Bob (LaVonne), Jim & Joe Spillane, a daughter, Sherri Marshall, a granddaughter, Leigh.

In lieu of plants & flowers, a Janet L. Spillane Memorial Fund has been established.
