Obituary

James "Jim" R. Ubersox, 77, of Shullsburg, WI passed away on Saturday, October 26, 2024 at Upland Hills Hospital in Dodgeville, WI. The Haudenshield Funeral Home & Crematory in Cuba City, WI is serving the family. A memorial service will be held Friday, November 1st from 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. On Saturday, November 2nd  there will be viewing from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. The service will start at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor Russ Paul officiating. Burial will follow in the St. Matthew's Cemetery in Shullsburg, WI. Family & friends may call on Friday, November 1st from 3:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. and Saturday, November 2nd from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at the Haudenshield Funeral Home & Crematory in Cuba City, WI.

Jim was born on March 23, 1947 to Fred Jr. & Joyce (Puls) Ubersox in Hazel Green, WI. Jim was a life-long truck driver that worked for many companies, such as AG Trucking, Zimmerman, H&W, Gensler Trucking and Mc-Mor-Han Trucking.

He was a member of the Platteville Car Club, Fantasy Truck Pulling, Badgerland F-100's Truck Club, and UAW Local Teamsters Central States.

Jim enjoyed ATV-ing, truck pulling, especially his own truck, the Milky Way, drag racing, NASCAR fan, swap meets, Truckin'Bozo radio, and spending time with his family and friends. He will be sadly missed and fondly remembered by all who knew and loved him.

Jim is survived by his 3 children: Jamie Ubersox of Hazel Green, WI, Joyce Ubersox of Shullsburg, WI & Jolene Passut of Reva, VA; 7 grandchildren: Brandi (Robert) Miller, Cheyanne Ubersox, Jake Ubersox, Colton (Laina) Rutherford, Montana (David Zart) Rutherford, Lidia Passut & Breonna Passut; 5 great-grandchildren with one on the way: Maverick, Rhett, Camden, Trinity & Bentley; a brother, Rick Ubersox; a sister, Gale (Ken) Wilson; a sister-in-law, Sherry Ubersox; former wife and mother of his children Delva Palfrey; step-sister Barb (Frank Unterholzner), step-brothers Jim (Lori) Larson, and Gordan Larson, step-sister-in-law Nikki Larson; along with many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, step-mother Lois Ubersox, a brother, Hal Ubersox, a sister-in-law, Alice Ubersox and a nephew, Tim Ubersox; step-sisters Carol & Audrey Larson and Sharon Carlson; along with step-brother Charles Larson.

In lieu of plants & flowers, a James "Jim" R. Ubersox Memorial Fund has been established.
