HAZEL GREEN, WI – James "Jim" J. Sutter, 77, of Hazel Green, WI passed away on Saturday, February 17, 2018 at Mercy Medical Center in Dubuque, IA. Services with military honors accorded will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, February 23rd at the East Iron Hill Community Church in Maquoketa, IA with Rev. Susen LeBlanc officiating. A private family burial will be held at a later date at the Harmony Church Cemetery in Zwingle, IA. Friends may call from 9:00 a.m. until time of service on Friday, February 23rd at the East Iron Hill Community Church in Maquoketa, IA. The Haudenshield Funeral Home & Cremation Services in Cuba City, WI is serving the family.

Jim was born on May 14, 1940 to Wilfred & Martha (Stecklein) Sutter in Dubuque, IA. After graduation from Senior High School in Dubuque, IA, he enlisted into the US Navy. He was a 4th generation baker of the family business "Sutter's Bakery" in Dubuque, IA, where he met the love of his life Carol Ann Horch. They were married on July 15, 1961 in Dubuque, IA and lived in Dubuque, IA until 1972 and then moved to Hazel Green, WI. Jim enjoyed bowling, gambling, dancing, telling jokes, especially "Blonde jokes" and time spent with his family and his beloved dog, Bonnie. He will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved him.

Jim is survived by 6 sons: Jay, Fred & Troy all of Hazel Green, WI, Sam of Arizona, Bill & Bob both of East Dubuque, IL; a daughter-in-law, Tammy Sutter of East Dubuque, IL; a son-in-law, Tom Richey of Central City, IA; 8 grandchildren: Tommy (Robyn), Nicki (Breck), Crystal (Keith), Freddy, Tylor, Kelly, Amber (Nick) & Missy; 6 great-grandchildren: Kaylee, Emerson, Hank, Emma, Nash & Emelia; 2 sisters: Jean (Harvey) Miller & Sandy (John) Bridges; a brother-in-law, Kenny Horch and a special family friend, Joe Kruser.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Carol Ann (Sept. 25, 2015), a daughter, Cindy Richey and a sister-in-law, Peggy Horch.
