Ilo F. Sorte, 94, of Hazel Green, WI passed away on Tuesday, August 11, 2026 at Stonehill Care Center, in Dubuque, IA. A private family service will be held at the Haudenshield Funeral Home & Crematory in Cuba City, WI. Burial will be in the Montana Veteran's Cemetery in Helena, MT at a later date. The Haudenshield Funeral Home & Crematory in Cuba City, WI is serving the family.

Ilo was born on June 23, 1932, to Thomas & Agnes (Gausen) Brenden in Hendrum, MN. She graduated from Scobey High School in Scobey, MT. She married Donald L. Sorte on October 12, 1951 in San Diego, CA. She worked as a real estate agent for many years. Ilo enjoyed music, singing, but most of all, she enjoyed time spent with her family and friends and her beloved dog, Izzy. She will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved her.

Ilo is survived by a daughter, Linda (Art) Hawkins of Meridian, ID; a son-in-law, Kevin (Kris) Goranson of Hazel Green, WI; 4 grandchildren: Mary Anne (Kevan) Skinner, Mathew (Anna) Hawkins, Cory (Ashley) Goranson & Kelly (Lexie) Goranson; 4 great-grandchildren: Maddie, Dax, Abby & Chip; a sister-in-law, Ana Brenden; along by many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Donald, her daughter, Kathleen Goranson, and 3 siblings: Thomas Brenden Jr., Eileen Burgett, and Audrey (Floyd) Vallie.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to Velma Wagner and to Jo Roe for their special friendship and care for these past few years. Also, to the staff of Hospice of Dubuque and Stonehill Care Center for their kindness and compassion shown to Ilo in her last few months.
