Helen M. (Soat) Richardson, 77, of Galena, IL passed away on Thursday December 31, 2009 at Mercy Medical Center in Dubuque, IA. A private family service will be held 11 a.m. Monday, January 4, 2010 at the Haudenshield Funeral Home & Cremation Services in Cuba City, WI, with burial in Hazel Green Cemetery.

Helen was born on February 17, 1932 to Elmer and Viola (Temperly) Soat in Galena, IL. She married her best friend, Wesley Richardson on September 30, 1950 in Benton, WI. Helen and Wesley farmed in the New Diggings and Benton area until retirement, and moved to Council Hill in Galena, IL. Helen enjoyed gardening, watching parades and visiting with friends and family.

She was preceded in death by her parents, two sisters, an infant sister Betty Soat and Ruth Anger, a brother-in-law Chris Anger.

Helen is survived by her husband Wesley, two brothers, Robert (Mary) Soat and Richard (Carol) Soat, one sister, Carol M. Soat, along with many nieces and nephews.
