Helen M. Melton, 88, of Elizabeth, IL, formerly of Buffalo Grove, IL passed away on Friday, April 18, 2014 at Elizabeth Nursing Home in Elizabeth, IL. A private family burial will be held on Tuesday, April 22nd at Chapel Hill Gardens in Worth, IL. The Haudenshield Funeral Home & Cremation Services in Cuba City, WI is serving the family. Helen was born on August 23, 1925 to Elmer & Ethyl (Andres) Breese in Grindey, IL. She married Herschel A. Melton on March 21, 1953 in Chicago, IL. Helen enjoyed watching the Chicago Cubs, Wheel of Fortune and Jeopardy, traveling, crocheting, music and crossword puzzles. She will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved her. Helen is survived by her children: Debra L. Melton of Elizabeth, IL and Dennis A. (Helene Friedlander) Melton of Barrington, IL; and a granddaughter, Christy Melton. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Herschel (Nov. 20, 1994) and a son, Richard (2003). In lieu of flowers a Helen M. Melton Memorial Fund has been established.
