Florence G. Dare, 91, of Benton, WI passed away on Sunday, October 13, 2013 at the Epione Pavilion in Cuba City, WI. Services will be at 11am on Friday, October 18th at the Haudenshield Funeral Home & Cremation Services in Cuba City, WI with Rev. Calvin Hughes officiating. Burial will be in the Fairview Cemetery in Farley, IA. Friends may call on Friday, Oct. 18th from 9:30am until the time of service at the Haudenshield Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Cuba City, WI. Flo was born on Dec. 29, 1921 to Henry & Kathryn (Bower) Heitkamp in rural Jo Daviess County, IL. She married Robert Dare in 1938 in Benton, WI and farmed together for many years. Flo was a lifelong resident of Benton, WI. She was a caregiver for most of her life, losing her mother at her birth; she later took care of her disabled sister. Flo also babysat for area families, she also enjoyed gardening, knitting and puzzles and being around people was a joy to her. Flo is survived by 6 nephews and 1 niece. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Robert (April 2, 1999), 2 brothers and a sister. In lieu of flowers a Florence G. Dare Memorial Fund has been established.
