Ernest H. Garard, 77, of Cuba City, WI passed away on Wednesday, September 30, 2015 at home. A private family service will be held at a later date. The Haudenshield Funeral Home & Cremation Services in Cuba City, WI is serving the family. Ernest was born on May 5, 1938 to James & Johanna (Koffsky) Garard in Chicago, IL. He grew up in the Chicago area and graduated from Palatine High School. He started working as a truck driver at age 16 and later worked for a Ford dealership, Arlington Heights wrecker company and Illinois Bell Telephone. He married Charlotte E. DeRosaire on March 6, 1976 in Chicago, IL. Ernest enjoyed hunting, traveling and country western music, especially Johnny Cash and Hank Williams. He will be sadly missed by all who knew him. Ernest is survived by a daughter, Jennifer (Rick) Shannon of Dubuque, IA; a sister, Ester; a brother, James; special friend, Carol Dowds of Cuba City, WI; along with nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and his wife, Charlotte (July 7, 2007). In lieu of flowers an Ernest H. Garard Memorial Fund has been established.
