Emil A. Friedlein, 89, of Lancaster, WI passed away on Thursday, April 30, 2015 at Lancaster Care Center in Lancaster, WI. Services will be held at 2pm on Monday, May 4th at Haudenshield Funeral Home & Cremation Services in Cuba City, WI, with Rev. Calvin Hughes officiating. Burial with military honors by the Platteville American Legion Post #42 & Christopher Splinter VFW Post #5274 will be accorded at the Hillside Cemetery, Platteville, WI. Friends may call from 1pm until time of service on Monday, May 4th at the Haudenshield Funeral Home & Cremation Services in Cuba City, WI. Emil was born on March 24, 1926 to Herman & Ada (Burghardt) Friedlein in Elkader, IA. He married Bonnie L. Linden at the Little Brown Church in Nashua, IA on June 25, 1966. He was a US Army veteran and served during the Korean War as a machine operator, working on clearing land for new housing. Emil enjoyed fishing, camping, bowling, dancing and playing cards-500, and visiting with his family and friends. Emil is survived by his 3 children: Gordon (Lona) Friedlein of Stockton, IL, Julie Bott of Clinton, IA and Mari (Curt) Kruse of O'Fallon, MO; 7 grandchildren: Damon (Aimee) Friedlein, Angie (Jayson) Adams, Michael Bott, Katherine (Tim) Lingle, Kristen (Morgan) Hamilton, Lucas (Betsy) Kruse, Jaci (Steve) Brush; 9 great grandchildren: Linzy Friedlein, Julia & Mason Lingle, Adley & Cora Kruse, Luci & Atlas Brush, Everett Hamilton and Tyler Adams; along with nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife Bonnie Friedlein (1988), 3 brothers: Herbert, Floyd and infant brother George and longtime friend, Helen Tuntland. In lieu of flowers donations can be made in Emil's name to the Humane Society.
