Eleanor I. Thompson, 93, of Darlington, WI, formerly of Shullsburg, WI passed away on Saturday, August 27, 2011 at Lafayette Manor Nursing Home in Darlington, WI. Services will be held at 11am on Saturday, September 3, 2011 at the Furlong Funeral Chapel in Shullsburg, WI, with Rev. Doug Weaver officiating. Burial will be in the Evergreen Cemetery in Shullsburg, WI. Friends may call on Saturday from 9:30am till time of service at the funeral home. The Haudenshield Funeral Home & Cremation Services in Cuba City, WI is serving this family. Eleanor was born on July 18, 1918 to Francis & Catherine (Fields) Thompson in White Oak Springs Township, WI. She enjoyed being outdoors, planting flowers, gardening and bird watching. Eleanor was a huge White Sox fan, an avid euchre player, enjoyed crossword puzzles, the company of her special friend Diane on day trips, and loved her cats & dogs. She will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved her. Eleanor is survived by her cousins and special friends Diane & Lenny Hook of Shullsburg, WI. She was preceded in death by her parents and her brother Roscoe. In lieu of flowers a Eleanor I. Thompson Memorial Fund has been established.
