Eleanor F. Sanders, 86, of Hazel Green, WI passed away on Monday, June 30, 2025 in Reno, NV. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, July 22nd at St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church in Hazel Green, WI; with Fr. Peter Auer officiating. Burial will follow in the St. Francis de Sales Church Cemetery in Hazel Green, WI. Family & friends may call on Tuesday, July 22nd from 9:00 a.m. – 10:30 a.m. at the Haudenshield Funeral Home & Crematory in Cuba City, WI. Eleanor was born on November 1, 1938 to Edward & Imelda (Banfield) Alt in Smelser Township. She attended Sullivan School, a one room schoolhouse and was a graduate from Benton High School in 1956. She married William "Bill" P. Sanders on January 4, 1958. She worked as a meat packer for many years at the Dubuque Pack.

Eleanor enjoyed dancing, traveling, special one-on-one time with her grandchildren and ended every phone call with "I love you", but most of all, she enjoyed time spent with her family and friends. She will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved her. But everyone knew, she did not like chicken!

Eleanor is survived by 3 daughters: Mary Harris & Jackie Sanders, both of Reno, NV & Debbie (Dale) Busch of Hazel Green, WI; a son-in-law, Ray Adams; 6 grandchildren: Mitch (Laura) Busch, Michael (Emily) Busch, Kelly (Ryan) Knuckey, Kristi (Kiel) Martin, Katie (Matthew O'Brien) Harris & Casey Adams; 15 great-grandchildren; 2 sisters: Shirley (Bob) Lex & Patricia Wiegel, both of Dubuque, IA; 2 brothers: Mike (Sandy) Alt of Cedar Rapids, IA and Leonard Alt of Milwaukee, WI; and a brother-in-law, Ken Brecht of Dubuque, IA; along with many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Bill (December 13, 1984), a daughter, Diane Adams, 2 sisters, Mary (Jack) Brady & Evelyn Brecht; 2 brothers:  Joseph & Patrick Alt, and a brother-in-law, Carl Wiegel.

In lieu of plants & flowers, an Eleanor F. Sanders Memorial Fund has been established.
