Obituary

Edward N. "Eddie" Pfohl, 91, of Dickeyville, WI went to sleep peacefully at home with his guitar by his side on Friday, October 9, 2015. Per Dad's wishes, there will be a one day service on Monday, October 12th at 11:00am at the Holy Ghost Catholic Church in Dickeyville, WI with Father Bernie Rott officiating. Burial will be in the Holy Ghost Church Cemetery, Dickeyville, WI. Friends may call from 9:00am until time of service on Monday, Oct 12th at the Holy Ghost Catholic Church. The Haudenshield Funeral Home & Cremation Services in Cuba City, WI is serving the family. Eddie was born on February 11, 1924 to Joseph & Ann (Gotto) Pfohl in Sinsinawa Mound, WI. He married Thelma Deiter on May 20, 1947 at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Galena, IL. He worked for over 26 years at John Deere Dubuque Works in Dubuque, IA. Eddie was a member of the UAW Local 94, Knights of Columbus #765 and was a member the Holy Ghost Catholic Church Choir. He enjoyed playing numerous guitars, pedal steel guitar, fiddle, banjo, mandolin and country western music. He played in numerous country & western bands in the area. Anyone who knew Eddie appreciated his love for music, as he recently enjoyed his trip to Music City Nashville with his family. At holidays, he always pulled out his guitar and played for his family. Eddie will be remembered for his musical ability he passed onto his sons and numerous musicians he picked with for many years. He will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved him. Eddie is survived by 3 sons: Milt (Pam) Pfohl of Kieler, WI, Dennis (Mary) Pfohl of Belmont, WI and Kevin (Tina) Pfohl of Dickeyville, WI; a daughter, Janel (Jerry) Maro of Dubuque, IA; 2 sisters: Dorothy Runde and Rita Mae Kaiser both of Hazel Green, WI; a brother-in-law, Burnell Deiter; 9 grandchildren: Jesse, Jason, Josh Pfohl, Brian Maro, Lindsey Behnke, Tanya Korzeniewski, Felicia Pfohl, Madalyn and Kaleb Pfohl and 8 great grandchildren: Paige, Hannah, Ella, Henry, Jackson, Jennings, Jillian, James and one on the way; along with numerous nieces and nephews and special friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Thelma (2000); 2 brothers, Leon and Herbert; 4 sisters: Clara, Leonetta, Maleta and Marcella, 3 sisters-in-law and 6 brothers-in-law. The family requests no flowers and an Edward N. "Eddie" Pfohl Memorial Fund has been established.
