Edith M Chadwick, 99, of Hazel Green, WI passed away on Monday, December 5, 2011 at her home. Services will be at 10:30am on Friday, December 9th at the Haudenshield Funeral Home & Cremation Services in Cuba City, WI. Burial will be in the Hazel Green Cemetery, Pastor Calvin Hughes officiating. Friends may call on Thursday, December 8th from 3-7pm at the Haudenshield Funeral Home & Cremation Services in Cuba City, WI and on Friday from 9:30am till time of the service at the funeral home. Edith was born on February 5, 1912 to William and Sarah Ann Dalton in Barnum, WI. Edith married Virgil Chadwick on December 20, 1934 in Gay Mills, WI. She lived in the Cuba City & Hazel Green area for 62 years. Her early years in Big Horn, Montana, Edith attended grades 1-7th in Burnt, Montana and graduated from Gay Mills High School. After receiving her Bachelor Degree in Education, Edith taught at country schools for years and later at the Cuba City Elementary School many years. She enjoyed sewing, gardening and time spent with family and friends. She will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved her. Edith is survived by a daughter: Nancy Ann Becker of Hazel Green WI; 13 grandchildren, 26 great grandchildren, and 11 great-great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Virgil (Nov.12, 1974); 2 daughters: Bonnie & Delpha, a granddaughter, Rose; 2 grandsons: Donald & Delvin; great grandson, Shawn and great granddaughter, Meagan Ann. In lieu of flowers a memorial may be given to Hospice of Dubuque. A special thank you to Dr. Christine Sinsky and hospice nurse Kelly Simpson, and also a thank you to the 3rd floor staff at Mercy Hospital in Dubuque, IA for all the kindness they had shown our family.
