Devon J. Slaats, 19, of Farley, IA passed away on Sunday, September 16, 2012 due to injuries sustained in an automobile accident. Services will be held at 10:30am on Thursday, September 20, at St. Anthony's Catholic Church in Dubuque, IA, with Rev. Steven J. Rosonke officiating. Burial will be at Linwood Cemetery, Dubuque, IA. Friends may call from 8:30am-10:30am on Thursday at the St. Anthony's Catholic Church, Dubuque, IA. The Haudenshield Funeral Home & Cremation Services in Cuba City, WI is serving the family. Devon was born on September 25, 1992 to Doug & Kimberly (Holl) Slaats at Fort Riley, KS. She was a 2011 graduate of Western Dubuque High School. She worked for Dubuque Stamp Company and Bandana's Restaurant in Dubuque, IA. She enjoyed reading, high school rallies, going to the lake with friends, fashion her beloved pets, but most of all time spent with her family and friends. She will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved her. Devon is survived by her parents, Doug (Yvonne) Slaats of Farley, IA, Kimberly (Kevin) Kelly of Dubuque, IA; 3 sisters: Katlyn Slaats of Colorado Springs, CO, Skye & Jackie; 2 brothers: Levi & Malachi; grandparents: Paul & Charlotte Hillary of Hazel Green, WI, Robert & Linda Slaats of East Dubuque, IL, Mike & Sandy Holl, Brigitte & Uwe Wisbar, Guenther Vogt, Helene Reuter, Hera Kaiser; along with many aunts, uncles & cousins. In lieu of flowers a Devon J. Slaats Memorial Fund has been established.
