Dennis M. Hartke, 67, of Dubuque, IA, formerly of Cuba City, WI passed away on Tuesday, July 31, 2018 at UW-Madison Hospital due to injuries sustained in a motorcycle accident. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, August 7th at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church in Cuba City, WI, with Father David Flanagan officiating. Burial with military honors accorded will be in the St. Rose Church Cemetery in Cuba City, WI. Friends may call on Monday, August 6th from 3:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. at the St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church in Cuba City, WI and on Tuesday, August 7th from 9:30 a.m. until time of service at the church. Dennis was born on January 9, 1951 to Frank& Jean (Landfear) Buehler in the state of Arkansas. His mother Jean remarried to Wilhelm Hartke and he adopted him as his son.
He was a graduate from Senior High School in Dubuque, IA. He was a US Marine veteran having served during the Vietnam War. He married Eunice M. Puls on September 13, 1975 at St. Rose Catholic Church in Cuba City, WI. He worked for many years in the auto parts industry for NAPA and IWI. He was a member of the Cuba City Rescue Squad for over 10 years. Dennis enjoyed riding his motorcycle, camping, hunting, bowling, golfing, but most of all, he enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. He will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved him.
Dennis is survived by his 2 children: Melanie (John Majerus) Hartke of Cuba City, WI and Eric (Amanda) Hartke of Manchester, IA; former wife, Eunice Hartke of Cuba City, WI; 7 grandchildren: Shaw, Lear, Nash, Keaton, Onika, Brady & Erica; a brother, Charlie (Mary Ann) Hartke of Hazel Green, WI; a niece, Tanya (Jeff) Watson; along with many nieces, nephews, step-siblings and a half-sibling.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a son, Brian, a niece, Katie Hartke and a half-brother, Hank Buehler.
In lieu of plants & flowers a Dennis M. Hartke Memorial Fund has been established.
