David G. Stangl,77, of Hazel Green, WI passed away on Sunday, June 3, 2012 at his home surrounded by family. Services will be at 10:30am on Wednesday, June 6th at St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church in Hazel Green, WI with Father Lance Schneider officiating. Friends may call on Tuesday June 5th from 4pm-8pm at the Haudenshield Funeral Home & Cremation Services in Cuba City, WI and on Wednesday from 9:30am till time of service at the church. A private family burial will be held at a later date. David was born on April 23, 1935 to Henry & Lucina (Placke) Stangl at the family home in rural Hazel Green, WI. He attended St. Joseph's School in Sinsinawa, WI and Loras College in Dubuque, IA. He ran his own construction business for 56 years in the tri-state area. He married Evelyn Myra Snyder on October 19, 1954 in Menominee, IL. David enjoyed hunting, fishing, traveling and time with family and friends. He will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved him. David is survived by his wife, Evelyn; 4 sons: George (Sherrie) Stangl, Gerald (Mary) Stangl both of Hazel Green, WI, Steven (Lori) Stangl of Galena, IL and Glen (Dana) Stangl of Hazel Green, WI; 2 daughters: Lori (Jim) Mainguth of Dane, WI and Marie Stangl of East Dubuque, IL; 19 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and numerous aunts & uncles. The family would like to express their appreciation of the outpouring of sympathy, support and kindness from family, friends and neighbors. It has been overwhelming and they are so grateful. Thank you all! In lieu of flowers a David G. Stangl Memorial Fund has been established.
