Darlene M. Trevarthen, 88, of Hazel Green, WI passed away on Sunday, October 16, 2016 at Epione Pavilion Nursing Home in Cuba City, WI. Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, October 20th at St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church in Hazel Green, WI, with Father Ken Frisch officiating. Burial will be in the St. Francis de Sales Church Cemetery in Hazel Green, WI. Friends may call from 4:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, October 19th at the Haudenshield Funeral Home & Cremation Services in Cuba City, WI and on Thursday, October 20th from 9:30 a.m. until time of service at the St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church in Hazel Green, WI. The Haudenshield Funeral Home & Cremation Services in Cuba City, WI is serving the family.

Darlene was born on September 28, 1928 to Faber & Irene (Hartung) Furlong in Shullsburg, WI. She attended Pleasant View Grade School and was a graduate from Hazel Green High School. She married Keith "Buck" Trevarthen on June 9, 1951 at St. Michael's Catholic Church in Galena, IL. She worked as a nurse's aide at the Hazel Green Hospital, Dubuque Packing Company, Stampfer's and at Roshek's in the jewelry & cosmetics department.

Darlene was a member of St. Francis De Sales Catholic Church, Secretary of the Council of Catholic Women and Alter Rosary Society. She enjoyed going for walks, reading, compiling photo albums, music by Lawrence Welk and most of all, time spent with her family, friends and grandchildren. She will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved her.

Darlene is survived by her 3 children: Cheri (Paul) Trevarthen-Engel of Hazel Green, WI, Randy (Sharon) Trevarthen of DeWitt, IA and Brian (Kalli) Trevarthen of Galena, IL; 4 grandchildren: Michael Trevarthen of West Des Moines, IA, Krystle (Kyle) Gibson of Eldridge, IA, Lucas (fiancée, Jenna Johnson) Trevarthen and Carmen (fiancé, Mitchell Phillips) Trevarthen both of Galena, IL; 2 great grandchildren: Kenlea & Kade Gibson of Eldridge, IA; 2 sisters: Maxine (Elbie) Baughman of Normal, IL and Marilyn (Bill) Leglar of Peosta, IA; 3 nephews: Marty, Kurt & Jack Leglar and a niece, Kara Murphy.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Buck (April 5, 2004), father-in-law & mother-in-law, Ray & Fern Trevarthen, a brother, Charles Furlong and a sister-in-law, Gloria Trevarthen.

In lieu of plants and flowers a Darlene M. Trevarthen Memorial Fund has been established.
